Bush Turkey
The Bush Turkey, also known as the Australian Brush-turkey, is a large bird native to the rainforests of eastern Australia. It is easily recognized by its black plumage, bright red head, and distinctive yellow wattle. These birds are ground-dwelling and are known for their unique nesting behavior, where they build large mounds of decomposing vegetation to incubate their eggs.
Bush Turkeys are omnivorous, feeding on a variety of foods including fruits, seeds, and insects. They play an important role in their ecosystem by helping to disperse seeds and maintain the health of their habitat. Their adaptability has allowed them to thrive in urban areas as well.
