Burramys
Burramys is a genus of small, nocturnal marsupials known as the pygmy possums. They are native to the mountainous regions of southeastern Australia, particularly in the Australian Alps. These tiny creatures are characterized by their large eyes, soft fur, and a long, prehensile tail, which helps them navigate their arboreal habitat.
There are two recognized species within the Burramys genus: the Burramys parvus and the Burramys gouldi. They primarily feed on nectar, fruits, and insects, playing a vital role in their ecosystem as pollinators. Due to habitat loss and climate change, these marsupials are considered vulnerable and are the focus of conservation efforts.
