Burn Care
Burn care involves the treatment and management of injuries caused by heat, chemicals, electricity, or radiation. The severity of a burn is classified into three degrees: first-degree burns affect only the outer layer of skin, second-degree burns damage deeper layers, and third-degree burns can destroy all layers of skin and underlying tissues. Proper assessment and classification are crucial for effective treatment.
Treatment for burns may include cooling the burn with running water, applying sterile dressings, and using topical ointments to prevent infection. In more severe cases, medical intervention may be necessary, including skin grafts or surgery. Pain management and rehabilitation are also important aspects of comprehensive burn care.
