Burke and Wills were two Australian explorers, Robert O'Hara Burke and William John Wills, who led an expedition in 1860-1861 to cross Australia from south to north. Their journey aimed to explore uncharted territories and establish a route from Melbourne to the Gulf of Carpentaria.
The expedition faced numerous challenges, including harsh weather, difficult terrain, and food shortages. Despite reaching their destination, both Burke and Wills ultimately perished on the return journey.
