Bump Keys
A bump key is a specially modified key designed to open pin tumbler locks. It has all the cuts at the maximum depth, allowing it to fit into various locks. When struck with a tool, the key can momentarily align the pins, enabling the lock to turn and open.
Bump keys are often associated with locksmithing and security discussions. While they can be used for legitimate purposes, such as lock picking by professionals, they are also a concern for security, as they can be easily made and used by unauthorized individuals to gain access to secured areas.
