The Bulgarian President is the head of state of Bulgaria, a country located in Southeast Europe. The president is elected for a five-year term and can serve a maximum of two consecutive terms. The role includes representing the nation, overseeing the armed forces, and ensuring the constitution is upheld.
The president also has the power to appoint the prime minister, who leads the government, and can veto legislation. The current president, as of October 2023, is Rumen Radev, who has been in office since January 2017. The presidency is a significant position in Bulgaria's political system.
