Bryophyta
Bryophyta is a division of non-vascular plants commonly known as mosses. These small, green plants typically grow in moist environments and can be found in various habitats, including forests, wetlands, and rocky areas. They lack true roots, stems, and leaves, instead having structures called rhizoids that help anchor them to the ground.
Mosses reproduce through spores rather than seeds, with a life cycle that includes both a gametophyte and sporophyte stage. The gametophyte is the dominant stage, which is the green, leafy part we commonly see. Bryophyta plays a crucial role in ecosystems, helping to retain moisture and prevent soil erosion.
