Brown Rats
Brown rats, also known as Norway rats, are common rodents found in urban and rural areas worldwide. They have a robust body, short ears, and a long, hairless tail. Typically, they measure about 9 to 11 inches in length, excluding the tail, and weigh between 7 to 18 ounces. Brown rats are known for their adaptability and can thrive in various environments, often living in burrows or near human habitats.
These rats are primarily nocturnal and are omnivorous, feeding on a wide range of foods, including grains, fruits, and even garbage. They are social animals, often living in large colonies. Brown rats can reproduce quickly, with a female capable of having several litters each year, contributing to their population growth in suitable habitats.
