Brooks Range
The Brooks Range is a mountain range located in northern Alaska, stretching approximately 700 miles across the state. It forms the northernmost part of the North American Cordillera and is known for its rugged terrain, diverse ecosystems, and stunning landscapes. The range is primarily composed of sedimentary rock and features numerous peaks, with the highest being Mount Isto.
The Brooks Range is home to various wildlife, including caribou, grizzly bears, and wolves. It also plays a crucial role in the hydrology of the region, as many rivers, such as the Koyukuk River, originate from its slopes. The area is largely uninhabited and is part of the Gates of the Arctic National Park and Preserve.
