British Grand Fleet
The British Grand Fleet was the main naval force of the United Kingdom during World War I. Established in 1914, it was primarily composed of battleships and cruisers, designed to protect British interests at sea and counter the threat posed by the German Navy. The fleet played a crucial role in major naval engagements, including the Battle of Jutland in 1916.
Commanded by Admiral John Jellicoe, the Grand Fleet aimed to maintain naval supremacy in the North Sea. Its strategic presence helped secure vital supply routes and deterred enemy actions, contributing significantly to the overall success of the Allied forces during the war.
