British Government
The British Government is the political system of the United Kingdom, which includes England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. It operates as a constitutional monarchy, meaning that the monarch, currently King Charles III, has a ceremonial role while the actual governance is carried out by elected officials. The government is divided into three branches: the executive, the legislative, and the judiciary.
The Parliament is the legislative body, consisting of two houses: the House of Commons and the House of Lords. Members of the House of Commons are elected by the public, while the House of Lords includes appointed members and bishops. The Prime Minister, the head of government, is usually the leader of the majority party in the House of Commons and is responsible for running the country and making policy decisions.
