British America
"British America" refers to the territories in North America that were colonized by the British Empire from the early 17th century until the American Revolution in the late 18th century. This included the original thirteen colonies, such as Virginia, Massachusetts, and New York, which were established for various reasons, including trade, agriculture, and religious freedom.
The colonies were governed by British laws and were economically tied to Britain. Tensions grew over issues like taxation and representation, leading to the American Revolution (1775-1783). Ultimately, the colonies declared independence, forming the United States and ending British control over the region.
