Brigadier General Braxton Bragg
Brigadier General Braxton Bragg was a Confederate general during the American Civil War. Born on March 22, 1817, in North Carolina, he graduated from the United States Military Academy in 1837. Bragg served in the Mexican-American War and later became a prominent military leader for the Confederacy, known for his role in several key battles, including the Battle of Chickamauga.
Despite his military experience, Bragg faced criticism for his leadership style and decisions, which led to mixed results in battle. After the war, he struggled with his post-military career, eventually working in various business ventures and passing away on September 27, 1876, in Texas.
