Brazilian education
Brazilian education is divided into three main levels: fundamental education, secondary education, and higher education. Fundamental education is mandatory for children aged 4 to 14 and lasts for nine years. Secondary education follows and typically lasts for three years, preparing students for higher education or the workforce.
The Brazilian education system is overseen by the Ministry of Education and is characterized by a mix of public and private institutions. While public schools are free, they often face challenges such as overcrowding and limited resources. In contrast, private schools generally offer better facilities and smaller class sizes, but they require tuition fees.
