The Brazilian Parliament, known as the National Congress of Brazil, is the legislative body of the country. It is a bicameral institution, consisting of two houses: the Chamber of Deputies and the Federal Senate. The Chamber has 513 members, while the Senate has 81 senators. Both houses are responsible for creating laws, overseeing the executive branch, and representing the interests of the Brazilian people.
Members of the Chamber of Deputies are elected for four-year terms, while senators serve for eight years. The Parliament meets in the Palácio do Congresso Nacional in Brasília, the capital of Brazil. It plays a crucial role in shaping national policies and governance.
