Brahmic Scripts
Brahmic Scripts are a family of writing systems that originated in ancient India around the 3rd century BCE. They are derived from the Brahmi script, which is one of the oldest known writing systems in the Indian subcontinent. These scripts are primarily used for writing languages in South Asia, Southeast Asia, and parts of East Asia.
Over time, Brahmic Scripts evolved into various forms, leading to the development of many regional scripts such as Devanagari, Tamil, and Bengali. Each of these scripts has unique characteristics but shares common features, such as the use of consonant-vowel combinations and a generally left-to-right writing direction.
