Brachychiton
Brachychiton is a genus of flowering plants in the family Malvaceae, commonly known as the bottle trees. These trees are native to Australia and New Guinea, characterized by their distinctive swollen trunks that store water, helping them survive in arid environments. They produce large, attractive flowers that can be red, yellow, or white, depending on the species.
There are about 30 species of Brachychiton, with some popular ones being Brachychiton acerifolius, known as the flame tree, and Brachychiton populneus, or the kurrajong. These trees are often used in landscaping due to their unique appearance and drought resistance.
