Brčko
Brčko is a town and administrative center located in northeastern Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is situated at the confluence of the Sava and Brka rivers, making it an important transportation hub. The town has a diverse population, reflecting various ethnic groups, including Bosniaks, Serbs, and Croats.
In 1995, Brčko was designated as a district with a special status, separate from the entities of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republika Srpska. This unique status allows for a degree of self-governance, and the area has been a focal point for post-war reconstruction and development efforts.
