Bouvet Island
Bouvet Island is a small, uninhabited island located in the South Atlantic Ocean. It is a dependency of Norway and is known for its harsh, icy environment. The island covers an area of about 49 square kilometers and is mostly covered by glaciers.
Discovered in 1739 by Jean-Baptiste Charles Bouvet de Lozier, Bouvet Island is one of the most remote islands in the world. It is classified as a nature reserve, and its surrounding waters are rich in marine life, making it an important area for scientific research and conservation efforts.
