Borana
The Borana people are a pastoralist ethnic group primarily found in the southern regions of Ethiopia and northern Kenya. They are known for their traditional cattle herding practices, which play a central role in their culture and economy. The Borana community speaks the Oromo language and has a rich oral tradition, including storytelling and poetry.
The Borana are also recognized for their unique social structure, which includes a system of age sets that organizes individuals into groups based on their age and responsibilities. Their traditional practices, such as the Gadaa system, govern social, political, and economic aspects of life, promoting community cohesion and leadership.
