Bolesław II the Generous
Bolesław II the Generous, also known as Bolesław II Szczodry, was a Polish king who ruled from 1076 to 1081. He was a member of the Piast dynasty and is remembered for his efforts to strengthen the Polish state and expand its territories. His reign was marked by conflicts with neighboring countries and internal struggles, particularly with the Church and the nobility.
Bolesław II was known for his generosity, which earned him his nickname. He supported the clergy and promoted the development of towns and trade. However, his reign ended in controversy, leading to his exile after a rebellion against his rule in 1081.
