Boeing 314 Clipper
The Boeing 314 Clipper was a large flying boat designed for transoceanic travel in the 1930s and 1940s. It was known for its luxurious accommodations and ability to carry up to 74 passengers. The Clipper was primarily used by Pan American Airways for international flights, connecting the United States with destinations in Europe and Asia.
With a wingspan of 152 feet, the Clipper was powered by four Pratt & Whitney R-1830 engines, allowing it to fly long distances over water. Its design featured a distinctive hull shape, enabling it to land on water and take off from it, making it ideal for routes without extensive airport infrastructure.
