Body Planes
Body planes are imaginary lines that divide the body into sections, helping to describe locations and movements. The three main body planes are the sagittal plane, which divides the body into left and right parts; the frontal plane, which separates the front from the back; and the transverse plane, which cuts the body into upper and lower sections.
These planes are essential in fields like anatomy and physiology, as they provide a framework for understanding the body's structure and function. By using body planes, healthcare professionals can communicate more effectively about injuries, surgeries, and physical assessments.
