Bodhi (Awakening)
Bodhi, often translated as "awakening" or "enlightenment," is a key concept in Buddhism. It refers to the profound understanding and insight into the nature of reality, leading to liberation from suffering and the cycle of rebirth. The attainment of Bodhi is associated with the realization of the Four Noble Truths and the cessation of desire and ignorance.
The term is most famously linked to Siddhartha Gautama, who became the Buddha after achieving Bodhi under the Bodhi tree in Bodh Gaya, India. This moment marked the beginning of his teachings, which guide others on the path to enlightenment and spiritual awakening.
