Bodawpaya
Bodawpaya was a prominent king of the Konbaung Dynasty in Burma (now Myanmar), reigning from 1782 to 1819. He is known for his military campaigns, particularly against Thailand and British India, which aimed to expand his kingdom's territory. His reign also saw significant administrative reforms and the promotion of Buddhism.
Bodawpaya is recognized for commissioning the construction of the Maha Myat Muni Pagoda in Mandalay, which houses a revered statue of the Buddha. His efforts to centralize power and modernize the military contributed to the legacy of the Konbaung Dynasty, influencing the region's history.
