BlackBerry Messenger
BlackBerry Messenger, often abbreviated as BBM, was a messaging application developed by BlackBerry Limited. Launched in 2005, it allowed users to send text messages, images, and voice notes over the internet. BBM was particularly popular among BlackBerry smartphone users due to its secure messaging features and real-time delivery notifications.
In 2013, BlackBerry expanded BBM to other platforms, including iOS and Android, aiming to reach a broader audience. However, as competition from other messaging apps like WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger grew, BBM's user base declined. The service was officially discontinued in 2019, marking the end of an era for the once-popular messaging platform.
