Black Business Month
Black Business Month is celebrated every August to recognize and support the contributions of Black entrepreneurs and business owners in the United States. Established in 2004 by historian John William Templeton and engineer Frederick E. Jordan, the month aims to highlight the economic impact of Black-owned businesses and promote their growth.
During Black Business Month, various events, workshops, and initiatives are organized to encourage consumers to shop at Black-owned businesses. This observance also seeks to raise awareness about the challenges faced by these businesses and to foster a more inclusive economy for all.
