Black Entrepreneurship
Black entrepreneurship refers to the establishment and management of businesses by individuals of African descent. This movement has a rich history, with roots tracing back to the post-Civil War era when newly freed African Americans sought economic independence. Today, Black entrepreneurs contribute significantly to the economy, creating jobs and fostering innovation in various industries.
Despite facing systemic challenges such as limited access to capital and resources, many Black entrepreneurs have found success. Organizations and initiatives, like the Black Business Association and National Black Chamber of Commerce, aim to support and empower these business owners, promoting economic growth within the Black community.
