Bison grass, known scientifically as Hierochloe odorata, is a fragrant grass native to the North American prairies. It gets its name from the large bison that graze on it, as well as its sweet, vanilla-like scent. This grass thrives in wet, open areas and is often found in meadows and along riverbanks.
In addition to its ecological importance, bison grass is also used to flavor a popular Polish vodka called Żubrówka. The vodka is infused with the grass, giving it a unique taste and a hint of green color. This special ingredient has made Żubrówka a favorite among vodka enthusiasts worldwide.
