Born on September 25, 1946, in Amritsar, Punjab, he played for the Indian national team from 1966 to 1979. Bedi was a key member of the famous Indian spin quartet, which also included Erapalli Prasanna, B. S. Chandrasekhar, and Srinivasaraghavan Venkataraghavan.
