Birendra was the King of Nepal from 1972 until his tragic death in 2001. He was known for his efforts to modernize the country and promote democracy. Birendra was a beloved figure among the Nepalese people and played a significant role in the nation’s development during his reign.
He was born on December 29, 1945, and was educated in Nepal and the United States. Birendra was married to Aishwarya Rajya Laxmi Devi Shah, and they had three children. His reign ended abruptly when he and several members of the royal family were killed in a shooting incident, leading to significant changes in Nepal's monarchy.
