Bilig Language
The Bilig Language is a lesser-known language spoken by a small community in the northeastern region of India. It belongs to the Tibeto-Burman language family, which is part of the larger Sino-Tibetan language group. The language is primarily used in daily communication among its speakers, who often also use Hindi or English for broader interactions.
Bilig is characterized by its unique phonetic and grammatical features, which distinguish it from neighboring languages. Efforts are being made to document and preserve the language, as it faces challenges from dominant languages in the region. Linguists and cultural advocates are working to ensure that the rich heritage of the Bilig-speaking community is not lost.
