BiPAP
BiPAP stands for Bilevel Positive Airway Pressure, a type of non-invasive ventilation therapy. It is commonly used to help patients with breathing difficulties, such as those with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) or sleep apnea. The device delivers two levels of air pressure: a higher pressure during inhalation and a lower pressure during exhalation, making it easier for patients to breathe.
The BiPAP machine consists of a mask that fits over the nose or mouth and is connected to a ventilator. This setup helps maintain open airways and improves oxygen levels in the blood. It is often used in hospitals and can also be prescribed for home use.
