Bhaja Caves
The Bhaja Caves are a group of ancient rock-cut caves located in the Maharashtra state of India. Dating back to around the 2nd century BCE, these caves are known for their impressive architecture and intricate carvings. They were primarily used by Buddhist monks for meditation and living quarters.
The complex consists of 22 caves, with the most notable being the large chaitya hall, which features a stupa at its center. The caves are surrounded by lush greenery and offer stunning views of the nearby hills, making them a popular destination for both tourists and history enthusiasts.
