Beylik
A "Beylik" was a small principality or territory in the historical regions of Anatolia and the Balkans during the late medieval period. These regions were often ruled by a local leader known as a "Bey," who held authority over the land and its people. Beyliks emerged after the decline of the Seljuk Empire and played a significant role in the political landscape of the time.
Beyliks were characterized by their semi-autonomous governance and often engaged in trade, military campaigns, and cultural exchanges. Many Beyliks contributed to the rise of the Ottoman Empire, which eventually absorbed them into its expanding territory. The legacy of these principalities can still be seen in the cultural and architectural heritage of the regions they once governed.
