Berta language
The Berta language is a member of the Nilo-Saharan language family, primarily spoken in parts of Ethiopia and Sudan. It is used by the Berta people, an ethnic group residing mainly in the Blue Nile region. The language has several dialects, reflecting the diverse communities that speak it.
Berta is primarily an oral language, though efforts are being made to develop written forms. It features a rich system of noun classes and verb conjugations, which are common in many African languages. The preservation of Berta is important for maintaining the cultural identity of the Berta people.
