Bernard Hinault
Bernard Hinault is a retired French professional cyclist, widely regarded as one of the greatest cyclists in history. Born on November 14, 1954, in Yffiniac, France, he achieved significant success in the sport during the late 1970s and 1980s. Hinault is best known for winning the prestigious Tour de France five times, a feat that places him among the elite cyclists in the event's history.
In addition to his Tour de France victories, Hinault also won numerous other races, including the Giro d'Italia and the Vuelta a España. His aggressive racing style and strong work ethic earned him the nickname "The Badger." After retiring in 1986, Hinault remained involved in cycling as a commentator and team manager.
