Berlin Christmas Market attack
The Berlin Christmas Market attack occurred on December 19, 2016, when a truck was driven into a crowded Christmas market in Breitscheidplatz, Berlin. The attack resulted in the deaths of 12 people and injured over 50 others, making it one of the deadliest terrorist incidents in Germany in recent years.
The attacker, Anis Amri, was later identified as a Tunisian national who had pledged allegiance to the extremist group ISIS. Following the attack, a massive manhunt ensued, and Amri was killed in a police shootout in Milan, Italy, four days later.
