Berlín Oriental
Berlín Oriental, or East Berlin, was the capital of the German Democratic Republic (GDR) from 1949 until the reunification of Germany in 1990. It was established after World War II when Germany was divided into East and West. The area was characterized by its socialist government, which influenced its architecture and urban planning.
The city was known for its iconic landmarks, such as the Brandenburger Tor and the Fernsehturm. East Berlin was also home to the famous Berlin Wall, which separated East and West Berlin from 1961 to 1989, symbolizing the division of Europe during the Cold War.
