Benedict Biscop
Benedict Biscop was an English monk and the founder of the monastery at Wearmouth-Jarrow in the 7th century. He is known for his contributions to the spread of Christianity in Northumbria and for promoting education and scholarship. Benedict traveled to Rome several times, bringing back books and artifacts that enriched the monastic community.
