Belzoni
Giovanni Battista Belzoni was an Italian explorer and archaeologist known for his work in Egypt during the early 19th century. He is often referred to as the "Great Belzoni" due to his impressive stature and strength. Belzoni initially traveled to Egypt as a circus performer but soon became fascinated with ancient Egyptian monuments and tombs.
Belzoni is best known for his discoveries, including the tomb of Seti I in the Valley of the Kings and the Colossi of Memnon. His detailed documentation and drawings of these sites contributed significantly to the understanding of ancient Egyptian civilization and helped spark interest in Egyptology.
