Bayon
Bayon is a famous temple located in Angkor Thom, Cambodia. Built in the late 12th to early 13th century during the reign of King Jayavarman VII, it is known for its unique architecture and intricate bas-reliefs. The temple features 54 towers, each adorned with large stone faces believed to represent the bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara.
The design of Bayon reflects the transition from Hinduism to Buddhism in the region. Its detailed carvings depict various scenes from everyday life, historical events, and mythological stories. Today, Bayon is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and attracts thousands of visitors each year.
