The Bayeux Tapestry is an embroidered cloth that tells the story of the Norman Conquest of England in 1066. Measuring about 70 meters long, it features over 600 figures and numerous scenes, including the preparation for the invasion and the famous Battle of Hastings.
Created in the 11th century, the tapestry is believed to have been commissioned by Bishop Odo of Bayeux, the half-brother of William the Conqueror. It is considered a significant historical artifact, providing insight into medieval life, warfare, and the events leading up to the conquest.
