Bavarian People's Party
The Bavarian People's Party (BVP) was a political party in Germany that emerged in the early 20th century. Founded in 1918, it primarily represented the interests of the Bavarian region and aimed to promote conservative values, regional autonomy, and agrarian interests. The party played a significant role in Bavarian politics during the Weimar Republic.
In 1933, the BVP was dissolved as the Nazi regime consolidated power. Many of its members were absorbed into the Nazi Party, which sought to eliminate political opposition. The BVP's legacy is often discussed in the context of regional political movements in Bavaria and the broader history of German conservatism.
