Battle of Sheriffmuir
The Battle of Sheriffmuir took place on November 13, 1715, during the Jacobite Rising. It was fought between the forces loyal to the House of Stuart, led by the Earl of Mar, and the government troops commanded by General Wade. The battle occurred near Dunblane in central Scotland and was part of the larger conflict over the British throne.
Although the battle was indecisive, it marked a significant moment in the Jacobite cause. The Jacobites managed to hold their ground, but they ultimately failed to achieve a decisive victory. This battle contributed to the decline of the Jacobite movement in the years that followed.
