Battle of Scheveningen
The Battle of Scheveningen took place on August 10, 1653, during the Second Anglo-Dutch War. It was a naval engagement between the fleets of the Dutch Republic and England. The battle was fought off the coast of Scheveningen, a town in the Netherlands, and was notable for being one of the last major naval battles of the war.
The battle ended inconclusively, with heavy losses on both sides. The Dutch fleet, commanded by Admiral Maarten Tromp, faced the English fleet led by Admiral Robert Blake. Although the Dutch managed to maintain control of the seas, the battle highlighted the ongoing struggle for naval supremacy between the two nations.
