Battle of Nancy
The Battle of Nancy took place on January 5, 1477, during the conflict between the forces of Duke Charles the Bold of Burgundy and the troops of René II, Duke of Lorraine. This battle was significant as it marked the end of the Burgundian Wars and the decline of Burgundian power in the region.
In the battle, René II's forces decisively defeated Charles's army, leading to the death of Charles and the capture of many of his soldiers. The victory allowed René II to reclaim his duchy and solidified his control over Lorraine, reshaping the political landscape of eastern France.
