The Battle of Myeongryang took place on October 26, 1597, during the Imjin War, a conflict between Korea and Japan. This naval battle was fought near the Myeongryang Strait, where the Korean fleet, led by Admiral Yi Sun-sin, faced a much larger Japanese force. Despite being heavily outnumbered, Yi's strategic use of the narrow strait allowed his forces to achieve a decisive victory. Admiral Yi Sun-sin's tactics included utilizing the geography of the area and his knowledge of naval warfare. The battle significantly weakened the Japanese navy and boosted Korean morale.
