Battle of Muktsar
The Battle of Muktsar took place in 1705 in present-day Punjab, India. It was a significant conflict between the forces of the Mughal Empire and the Sikh warriors, led by Guru Gobind Singh's followers. This battle was part of the larger struggle for Sikh rights and autonomy against Mughal oppression.
The battle was fought near the town of Muktsar, where the Sikhs faced overwhelming odds. Despite their bravery, many Sikh soldiers were killed, but their sacrifice is remembered as a pivotal moment in Sikh history. The battle ultimately led to the establishment of the Khalsa, a collective body of initiated Sikhs.
