Battle of Largs
The Battle of Largs took place on October 2, 1263, near the town of Largs in Scotland. It was a conflict between the forces of the Scottish King Alexander III and the Norse King Haakon IV of Norway. The battle was part of a larger struggle for control over the western coast of Scotland and the Hebrides.
Although the battle was indecisive, it marked a significant moment in the decline of Norse influence in Scotland. Following the battle, Haakon's forces retreated, and he died the following year. The conflict ultimately led to the Treaty of Perth in 1266, which ceded the Hebrides to Scotland.
